Andrea Van Peltis a collaborative pianist and vocal coach from Toronto, Ontario. She holds a Masters degree in Collaborative Piano from the University of Toronto where she worked with Steven Philcox. Previous degrees include a Masters degree in Piano Performance from McGill, studying with Ilya Poletaev, and a Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance from the University of Toronto, working with Marietta Orlov and Andrew Markow.
After receiving the Austria Scholarship from McGill University, Van Pelt attended the Franz-Schubert-Institut in Austria, where her interest and love for vocal music was nurtured. Since then, Van Pelt’s interest for art song and opera has grown. She is an alumni of the Banff Centre for the Arts, the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival, the Accademia Europea dell’Opera, Opera NUOVA, and the Toronto Summer Music Festival. Van Pelt has performed as a soloist and collaborator in Canada and internationally, and has been privileged to work with many eminent performers and coaches. Recently, Van Pelt has enjoyed working as an assistant répétiteur and chorus master for Toronto City Opera, and freelances as a vocal coach and accompanist at the University of Toronto.
